Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, during the discussion on financing energy transition announced the introduction of an additional fund for this purpose, which is to total EUR 100 billion.Deputy Minister of Climate in Poland Adam Guibourge-Czetwertyński believes that the President's proposal: ‘is a good step that can ensure a successful transition’. According to Polish Minister of Climate Michał Kurtyka, climate neutrality is an extremely difficult challenge for Poland, which due to high costs cannot be coped alone. Therefore, the proposal for additional subsidy for transition is extremely important: "we are pleased with the Commissioner's declaration. We see that the discussion on how to carry out transition and what a just transition means is becoming increasingly important for EU countries”.Minister Kurtyka also emphasizes that the European Commission must take into account the individuality of all countries, especially such as Poland, which have historically adopted coal energy in decline. In addition, the minister believes that besides the climate neutrality, technological neutrality is also needed - in his opinion, technologies that are able to reduce emissions in the near future cannot be eliminated.
