Nearly half of all coal-fired power plants in the world currently operate in China. Only in 2019, 37 GW of new coal capacities were created, while in Poland the overall power of commercial plants have approximately 41 GW of capacity. There are more and more new power plants in China, which in perspective aims to build over 200 GW.

If international green ambitions are not global, such a thriving development of coal energy in China may undermine European efforts to combat climate change.
